I can’t help but to talk about this chicken as well. It is our indegenious Serama Chicken. I think it is kinda cute as it all the time pompous! They should call it Pompous chicken.
There were groomer competition as well. Never seen this before. So many masters in action.
A Tibetan Manstiff! It was only 4 months old. It was behaving like a huge puppy. The owner had to pull its back skin to move it around, because it just want to sit around. It was quite a cute sight.

So soon? Yeah! Actually it is not a serious claim. Reddy is our first few pet nation citizens. PT 000 007 to be exact. She was bitten by mosquitoes around her ‘undercarriage’ area and I guess she felt so itchy that she cratch herself crazy and got wounded. Her owner was very worried and she send Reddy to the vet. We got the claim cheque within 14 days after submitting all the relevent documents such as veterinary report and bills. By the time I visted her, she has already fully recovered. This was historical ok, everyone was really excited because insurance can only manifest its benefits only when there is a claim.
I dropby Reddy’s house to check if she is alrgith and also to hand deliver the PETS4LIFE! Pack which contains the PETNATION Certificate, Original Pet Care Insurance Certificate, and the cool looking PETSTERTAG Collar tag as well.
Besides having the PetNation Responsible Pet Ownership Programme, Reddy also has pet passport with her photos in it. This passport was issued by the DVS and can be used for travelling to overseas. Her owner has also kept a good record of Reddy’s vaccination and veterinary visitation card.
It was on a Monday evening that I got a call from Winnie the reporter from the Star Penang. we ran through the interview by emails. And Wa lah! on Friday the article came out and people from Penang and Ipoh starts calling in. Thank you the Star. On the same day Guang Ming also featured PetNation storey, thank you Miss Chan Yi Yuen of Guang Ming Penang.

Which dog is smarter? Anyway if a dog accidentally drank a lot of beer and has to see a vet, do you think the vet bill is claimable? I said accidentally, not deliverately given by the owner. Accidentally ok.

This youtube viceo clip is so Micheal Moore’ish. Interesting to know, hopefully it is not as bad as it sounds. In Malaysia we are just talking about the only pet insurance and yet to have any form of ‘cashless admission’ comprehensive guidelines similar to MMA; over there they are talking about animal healthcare is so much better and efficient than the human healthcare system.

It is true that we get into any insurance policy we will have really understand what it really covers and what it does not cover. For a start the Kurnia Pet Care Insurance does not cever pre-existing conditions. Meaning if the pet already had the illness when the owner bought the policy, it is not covered. You may ask how would the owner know? Well there are 4 ways to look at pre-existing condition.
The 1st one is, if the pet falls ill within the first 30 days after the policy inception date, it is deemed to be an pre-exiting condition.
The 2nd one is, if after the 30 days waiting period, say on the 40th day, the owner brings the pet to the vet, and the vet writes in the medical report that the illness is very likely to have started before the policy was bought, it is a pre-existing condition. The insurance company needs to protect itself from people who buy the pet insurance when they know the pet is already sick, but postpone to see the vet until they have bought the policy, or after the 30 days.
The 3rd one is stated in the Kurnia Pet Care Insurance policy wordings, where if the pet have not seek any treatment for the condition the owner is claiming now, it is deemed not a pre-existing condition.
And the 4th one is when the pet owner knows about it and declares it in the insurance proposal form and the insurance company specifically excludes the condition from the coverage.
One good example will be; a pet owner brought his dog to the vet. The dog is having a severe case of cataract on one eye, in fact the left eye is almost blind. He just bought the insurance 40 days ago. So do you think that the cataract symptoms could have occured just a week ago or could have started since months or years ago? Is this a clear cut pre-existing condition?
